The momentum around Worldwatch's key publication State of the World 2013: Is Sustainability Still Possible? continues to grow. Under the scientific coordination of Gianfranco Bologna the report was compiled and translated into Italian by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to keep seeking to restore the meaning of the term "sustainability" in various languages.

On 20 September 2013, Senior Researcher Michael Renner from the Worldwatch Institute will be in Padua, Italy, to launch the Italian edition of the report along with Dante Caserta, president of WWF Italy, and Ivo Rossi, the Deputy Mayor of Padua.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Italian Local Agenda 21 Association and the Municipality of Padua. Further speakers include Andrea Orlando, Minister of Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, Emanuele Burgin, Chairman Coordination LA21, Gianfranco Bologna, Scientific Director of WWF, Cesare Dosi, Professor of Environmental Economics at the University of Padova, and Marco Frey, Chairman of the Global Compact Italian Network.
