Kat is originally from California and holds a Master’s degree in International Environmental Policy with a food systems focus from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. She has worked with environmental education, ecological agriculture, and various social change projects in the United States, South America, and Europe. Her work focuses on the role of humans in co-creating sustainable environments and their dynamic relationship with nature in various spaces, from wild to cultivated to built. Her current interest areas are urban food systems and promoting environmental friendly practices in the daily lives of urban dwellers.

Kat currently lives in Copenhagen and amongst other things, is working with Worldwatch Institute Europe's URBIA project and with http://www.achaten-suisse.com/ media and communication for State of the World.
